Since 2019, with a break during COVID, AVP Michigan has been offering monthly workshops at Ionia Correctional Facility (ICF). This June of 2025, at the request of the ICF Administration, we have paused offering AVP workshops there. Reasons include a reduced number of workshop sign-ups and staffing shortages/changes at ICF. We hope to be back up and running again soon.
In 2025 AVP-USA celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Alternative to Violence Project (AVP) whose many participants and facilitators continue to spread the seeds of peace and nonviolence to communities around the world. At the national gathering this May 22-26 2025 at Manhattanville University in Purchase, New York AVP facilitators and friends will acknowledge the great history of this work. …
